Grand Opening February 22!

The San Lorenzo Valley is about to gain a fabulous new public space! Santa Cruz Public Libraries has informed Felton Library Friends that the grand opening celebration of the new Felton Branch Library will be Saturday, February 22.

Speakers involved in the project will make brief remarks at 9:30 am, followed by ribbon cutting at 10 am. The library will then be open to the public until 5 pm. Many activities, displays and demonstrations will be available all day, as well as music by local groups.

Prior to opening day, Felton Library Friends will host an invitation-only open house preview for major donors to the campaign to fund additional features in the library and the adjoining Felton Discovery Park as well as future programs.

The Felton Discovery Park will not be completely finished by the library opening day. A celebration of the park is being planned for the community on Saturday, May 2.

The library will be open regularly from 10am-7pm Monday-Thursday and 10am-5pm on Saturday and Sunday. It will be closed on Friday.

Please join in the celebration February 22!

“Libraries matter for the same reason parks matter. Because to blossom, human beings need public spaces that

enable play, freedom and social contact without any ties to consumption.” — Laila Jufresca
