Felton Library Friends will host seven summer programs for children at the Felton branch June 15 to July 27 on Tuesdays from 1:30 to 2:30, in the Felton library backyard. Refreshments will be provided by the Tuesday Felton Farmer’s Market. The programs, produced in partnership with the Santa Cruz Public Libraries Summer Reading Program, are intended to promote early literacy and to encourage families to use the library. June 15: The Great Blindini performs and teaches magic tricks using recycled materials.
June 22: “Food Matters”. Make a real Mr. or Ms. Potato Head with Kimberly Clark from SLVUSD. For adults, Sue Kuivanen talks about her new book, Parent’s Diet Handbook.
June 29: Tales and Trails storytellers Bob Kanegis and Liz Mangual, from New Mexico.
July 6: Zun Zun, popular local performers, with an interactive musical show about watersheds.
July 13: PT Puppets perform The Ugly Duckling, set to the music of Camille Saint- Saens.
July 20: The Singing Scientist, Peter Weiss, PhD, with songs and bedazzling science experiments.
July 27: “Make Your Own Books” with Marilyn Robertson—a creative hands-on workshop.
