Help “Keep It Growing”
The grounds of the new park and library will have several areas featuring native plants, riparian plants, and pollinator plants. These special beds will be permanent demonstration areas for the public to learn about and enjoy. Special attention a few times a year will include pruning, replanting, and mulching.
Felton Library Friends, in collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator of Santa Cruz County Parks, will be enlisting community volunteers interested in learning about and helping maintain these special areas. Classes several times a year will be provided to the public at no charge to learn how these plants promote a healthy environment and how they can be incorporated into home gardens.
The “Keep it Growing Fund” will provide tools for volunteers, new plants to replace areas in need of rejuvenation, and other necessary supplies. This fund will ensure that the planted areas remain beautiful for years to come.
