Nancy Gerdt (Chair)
Nancy has lived in Felton since 1982. She has been a business owner, teacher, and community activist. Beginning with the issue of locally owned water in Felton in 2003, she then became interested in libraries and in their power to transform lives. In 2005 she became one of the founding members of Felton Library Friends. She served for eight years on the Santa Cruz Library Joint Powers Board from 2006 to 2013 advocating for a better facility in the SLV. In 2016 she along with many other community members successfully worked on the county wide library Measure S campaign. She is currently working with other community members on various projects that will enhance the new Felton branch and serves on the new county-wide Library Advisory Commission. Judi Sherman (Secretary)
Judi Sherman has lived in Ben Lomond since 1980 and is passionate about contributing to the health and well-being of the Valley. She has a long-time connection to Mountain Community Resources, served on the Farmers Market Board, and was a committed volunteer in the schools for many years. She raised her daughter here and is fortunate that she still lives in the Valley. Judi is principal at Judi Sherman and Associates providing training and consulting services to the field of Family Strengthening and local and state government. Her practice includes work with California Department of Social Services, family resource centers (FRC) and their public and private partners, cross-sector coalitions and networks, and community change initiatives to advance their mission, enhance their programs, develop policy, and engage community.
Michele Mosher (Treasurer)
Michele has lived in the San Lorenzo Valley since 1974. She sees libraries as an essential part of community building. She was professionally involved in Early Childhood Education in Santa Cruz County from 1972-2016, retiring from UCSC Child Care Program Coordinator and Cabrillo Mentor Teacher Coordinator positions, and has served on the Child Care Planning Council of Santa Cruz County. In the SLV, she has served as chair of the boards of the Felton Farmers Market and the Valley Women’s Club. She was co-chair of the Events and Campaign Committees for FLOW (Friends of Locally Owned Water). Michele has been involved in Felton Library Friends since its inception in 2005, and is currently the FLF Treasurer and co-chair of the Capital Campaign Team. Contact: email@example.com
