Hundreds of chili enthusiasts enjoyed tasting many kinds of chili during the 5th Annual SLV Chili Cook Off  at the Felton Covered Bridge Park on November 3. The sun shone brightly and the fall air was filled with the aromas of chili and the sound of live music. 14 local chili cooks made their best chili on site, and cheerfully served up hundreds of tastes.  Go to SLVchilicookoff on Facebook to see photos and the list of winners.

Cary Coleman and Jenny Coleman have organized this evemt and its associated raffle for the past three years to benefit various SLV non-profits.  This year they partnered with Felton Library Friends (FLF) in support of the new Felton Library and Nature Discovery Park. In addition to the Coleman’s regular team of volunteers, many FLF volunteers joined in to make the event the biggest and best yet.

Many generous local businesses sponsored the event or contributed valuable prizes to the huge raffle. E Clampus Vitus members worked setting up and helping out. Three local bands played their hearts out.  Sebastien and Kristin Praly oversaw the busy FLF drink sales tents. Dozens of other volunteers helped out with everything from raffle sales to serving beer.  Far too many people were involved to mention individually, but gratitude goes out to all of them.

What a great example of the community coming together to have a good time and support a good cause!  The 6th Annual next November should be even bigger and better!
