Dear Felton Library Friend --
We hope you've already marked your calendar for our wonderful community gathering coming up a week from this Saturday. This big event will add momentum to our efforts to get a new library built on this donated land. Admission is free, and there is entertainment for all ages. See the announcement below for more details. Please tell your friends and neighbors! And if you wish to volunteer to help out -- bake a cake, help with event setup/cleanup, or scoop ice-cream-- just contact FLF by phone or email.
Felton Library Friends invites community members to an Ice Cream
Social on Saturday, September 15, 1-4 p.m. The event will be held at
the site of the future Felton Library next to the Post Office on
Gushee Street. Admission is free. Marianne's ice cream cones and
sundaes will be sold, as well as drinks from The White Raven, and
hot dogs.
Entertainment will include activities for children, a cake walk, and
stage acts. Beginning at 1:00, Common Cents bluegrass band will be
followed by The Great Blindini comedy magic show. At 2:00, guitarist
Kenny Hill and storyteller Richard Gaughn will perform. Teens from
the San Lorenzo Valley Youth Council will sing after 3:00 p.m.,
followed by raffle prizes, each valued at $100 or more.
This event will introduce the site of the new Felton library to the
people of the San Lorenzo Valley and Bonny Doon, and will celebrate
the offer of the land to the library system by the Verutti family. For
more information, email feltonlibraryfriends@gmail.com , call
