FLF Update

Dear Felton Library Friends –

The concept of a new valley library located in Felton is alive and well!

Thanks to all who came to the Joint Powers Board meeting last week in support of the FLF presentation. FLF's collective presence was an essential part of our message -- just as important as the slides and the oral presentation.

Please do talk to friends and neighbors about the Felton library, and encourage them to take a look at the web presentation to learn more about the history of this branch. Do you know of a group who would be interested in having this presentation shown? E-mail us or give us a call.

A web version of the presentation is available at our website: www.feltonlibraryfriends.org .

Now is the time to contribute your energy, ideas and visions to help create a public library facility to serve the valley for the next 50 years. If you have been looking for a way to "give back" and like the idea of ensuring a better future for our valley, join us.

" Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed. It is the only thing that ever has." Margaret Mead.

Joint Powers Board Presentation

"Access to knowledge is the superb, the supreme act of truly great civilizations. Of all the institutions that purport to do this, free libraries stand virtually alone in accomplishing this mission" -- Toni Morrison.

Felton Library Friends presentation to the Library Joint Powers Board

Monday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m.

Central Branch Library meeting room

Please join us to show how much you care about the future of the Felton branch!

This short slide presentation will include our vision for a new Felton branch, as well as the history of Library system planning for Felton and some of the options currently being explored. It powerfully conveys the need for action.

This will not be a meeting where individual speeches to the Board will further our cause. A large contingent from the Felton user population will by itself powerfully convey our passion about this topic. Pick up your FLF sticker at the door to show your support.

To carpool, park near the Felton post office at 6:25. If you'd like to be assured of a ride before then, please call FLF at 335-1135.
